UPDATE: RCMP is currently investigating the death of a woman in Peace River. At around 1:50 a.m. Tuesday morning, officers responded to a report of an injured woman. When they arrived they determined the woman was dead.
It is anticipated that the area of 77 Avenue between 98 Street and 99 Street will remain closed until sometime tomorrow. Police say no further information will be released until at least Wednesday.
There is a heavy police presence in the north end of Peace River following what’s being called an incident overnight. The RCMP is in the area of 98 Street and 77 Avenue and has blocked it off as part of the investigation.
Residents are being asked avoid 77 Avenue between 98 Street and 99 Street during their morning commute as neither pedestrians nor vehicles will be allowed through the area. It’s noted that public safety is not a concern at this time.
