City continues stormline maintenance in Mission Heights, Avondale

City crews are continuing their work on storm lines in the Mission Heights neighbourhood and preparing to start work in the Avondale neighbourhood.

Crews are currently doing storm line flushing work in the Mission Heights neighbourhood. They will be making sure the lines are free of debris and that the storm system is in proper working order which can reduce the likelihood of property damage.

During the flushing process, people may see workers accessing storm lines both behind and in front of people’s homes.

Then starting on October 10th, crews will be replacing the storm catch basin located on the south side of 108 Avenue and 105 Street near the Muskoseepi Park trail. Drivers can expect lane closures as well as a potential road closure later on in the month.

Pedestrians will also have limited access through the work zones and are reminded to be careful when using sidewalks and trails. Work in both neighbourhoods is expected to be finished by the end of October.
