County increases income cut-offs for Recreation Fee Assistance Program

More people in the County of Grande Prairie may be able to access recreation facilities at a discounted rate this year. Based on feedback received from the first year of the Recreation Fee Assistance Program in 2018, the County has increased the income cut-offs by 30 percent.

“Recreation is something that all people have a right to access, regardless of income. The program has the potential to support many residents, especially with the increased income levels so we encourage people to reach out, learn more and apply,” says Lisa Watson with Family and Community Support Services.

The program would give qualifying families a ten-visit punch pass at a discounted rate to access the Eastlink Centre, Crosslink County Sportsplex, and the Beaverlodge Recreation Centre.

In order to qualify, people must live in the county, be 18 or older and not exceed the income levels listed below:

6 people- $60,740
7+ people- $67,635
