The Grande Prairie Regional Tourism Association has named a new executive director. Terry Dow took over the role from James Leppan on October 2nd. Dow says she’s excited to get to work.
“I take a collaborative approach to promoting a region and place a high priority on creating partnerships, encouraging innovation and emphasizing the importance of tourism in the community.”
“This is a beautiful and diverse region and I can’t wait to work with the board, our partners, and local communities to showcase and develop the tourism potential that exists throughout the area in all seasons,” she adds.
Dow brings more than 25 years of experience in tourism, hospitality, sales and leadership from places in southern Ontario and Northern Saskatchewan, most recently as the Executive Director of the Waskesiu and Area Wilderness Region.
Board President Johnathan Clarkson says he’s excited to welcome Dow to the team and says her past experience will be invaluable.
“Terry’s 25 plus years’ experience working with tourism destination marketing organizations in Ontario and Saskatchewan and her background in tourism promotion, hospitality and non-profit organizational management will be a great asset.”
Leppan left the position earlier in the year to take a job with Travel Alberta.
