Fire Guardians needed to help issue County burn permits

The County of Grande Prairie is looking for a couple of extra bodies to help issue burn permits during wildfire season and teach others about safe burning practices.

Fire Guardians are needed in all divisions, and will be paid for their time.

County Fire Marshal Ken Atamanchuk says the right candidates have a strong sense of community and enjoy meeting people.

They must also be over the age of 18 and have a driver’s licence, as they may be needed to inspect burn sites in person.

Anyone interested is encouraged to contact Atamanchuk at 780-532-9727 by the end of the month.
