Peace Regional RCMP lay charges following slew of property crimes

Peace Regional RCMP has laid numerous charges following a series of property crimes near Peace River.

Mounties say around 8 a.m. on September 28th, they were called to the scene of a break and enter in progress at a business located in the west hill industrial park where the alleged suspect fled the area on foot after being confronted by an employee. Police say an investigation revealed multiple vehicles being stored on nearby properties with various amounts of stolen property in each.

RCMP officials say a number of reports from the public about a suspicious individual then lead them to a nearby area, which after a search, led to the arrest of the suspect and recovery of stolen property.

24-year-old Roderick Sorensen of Peace River is facing charges, including possession of break-in instruments, assault with a weapon and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000. He was scheduled to appear in court on September 30.
