United Way Alberta Northwest to host World Homelessness Day film screening

This year, United Way Alberta Northwest will be taking part in World Homelessness Day by hosting a free screening of the film US AND THEM on October 10th in Grande Prairie.

World Homeless Day has been observed in several dozen countries throughout the world. The purpose of the day is to draw attention
to homeless people’s needs locally and provide opportunities for the community to get involved in responding to homelessness.

US AND THEM was written and directed by Krista Loughton and filmmaker Jennifer Abbott, and follows Loughton’s journey as she befriends four chronically homeless people in the hopes of helping them change their lives.

The film will be shown at the St. John Paul II Performing Arts Theatre at 7 p.m. with a short Q & A panel to follow. Tickets are available by donation and can be found here.
