Junior Provincials get underway this afternoon at the Grande Prairie Curling Club

Alberta’s best young curlers are hitting the ice at the Grande Prairie Curling Club today through to Sunday, all looking to claim the junior provincial title.

There are 16 teams in total competing in the Alberta Junior Men’s and Women’s Championship.

Teams will be representing curling clubs in Calgary, Lac la Biche, Edmonton, Falher and Manning, Strathmore, and Airdrie.

Closer to home, Janais DeJong and her team will be representing Grande Prairie at the tournament.

Draws are scheduled today through to Saturday at 1 and 6 pm.

Tie breakers and semi finals will be Saturday and Sunday, with the finals taking place Sunday at 2 for both men’s and women’s teams.

If you’d like to take in any of the match-ups, tickets are $5 for a single game, or $25 for the weekend.
