The City of Grande Prairie wants to make sure it’s competitive with the County when it comes to development.
City planner Stuart Wraight recently completed a study that showed several ways in which the City was more expensive to build.
One of those was the Transportation Off-Site Levy Bylaw.
“There are significant differences between urban and rural environments, so as further discussion that administration will be reviewing the transportation levy by-law, which will be a work in progress.”
City staff are now looking into drafting a land use bylaw that would include a “rural industrial” district with similar development costs to the County.
