UPDATE: Minor injuries to drivers in Highway 40 crash

UPDATE: Traffic has reopened in both directions. RCMP says the crash was a head-on collision between a northbound pickup truck and a southbound pickup truck just before 6 a.m.

The drivers of each vehicle were taken to hospital with minor injuries. Police say all possible contributing factors are being considered.

Traffic on Highway 40 is down to a single, alternating lane north of the Canfor Road. Grande Prairie RCMP, firefighters, and EMS are responding to a two-vehicle crash.

Drivers are warned to expect delays as the site is cleaned up. We’ll update when we learn more.
