The Grande Prairie and District Chamber of Commerce will be holding a Grande Prairie – Mackenzie all candidates forum just over a week before Election Day.

The forum, which will be held on October 10th at Grande Prairie Regional College, will look and feel similar to the provincial forum held back in April. Marketing and Communications Manager Tom Pura says it seems to be the most liked way to hold the event by both politicians and members of the audience.

“It just gives all candidates the opportunity to speak openly on a variety of topics, and frankly, debates tend to occasionally get a little messy.”

Pura adds in the end, the most important aspect of the debates, especially for potential voters, is to get the answers they’re looking for, and he believes the forum could take care of those needs.

“A way of getting as many questions from the audience as we can, and get as much detail as far as reaction and comment from all the candidates.”

A time for the event has yet to be made public, however, the chamber says it will be releasing more details on the event in the weeks to come.
