County to hold design workshop for Five Mile Hall school site

County of Grande Prairie staff are looking for feedback on possible designs for a school site located at Five Mile Hall. From September 9th to 12th, the County will be hosting a workshop at the hall for community groups where a design team will gather ideas for the future site east of the city.

“Our goal is to develop a site plan for the area that best meets everyone’s needs. With the existing community hall, Peace Wapiti School Division’s need for more school facilities and the opportunity to include recreation facilities for clubs and the community, there are a lot of factors to consider,” says Director of Planning and Development Nick Lapp.

Over the four days, stakeholder groups will discuss their vision and ideas for the site which the design team will then use to develop a few concepts and create a blueprint for the area.

Members of the public can stop by the Community Hall on September 10th from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. to check things out. They can also visit on September 11th from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. to review the draft designs and then on September 12th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. to see the final design. They can also provide feedback by visiting the county’s website.
