A 41 year old Whitecourt man has been arrested after a stand off in that community earlier this morning.
RCMP say they were called to a home around 1:15 am where a man was threatening, with a gun, to harm anyone who entered the residence.
There were 3 other adults and a child in the home at the time, which police cordoned off to ensure public safety.
Police resolved the situation around 8:15 am when someone left the house to let them know that the man had fallen asleep.

Mounties were able to arrest the suspect without incident, and charges are pending.
