RCMP looking for owners of stolen property found in MD of Greenview, Clairmont

Police are looking for the owners of a number of pieces of stolen items recently found in the MD of Greenview and Clairmont.

On August 27th, RCMP arrested a man and a woman at a campsite in the MD of Greenview where officers say they recovered a stolen pickup truck, a stolen travel trailer, a stolen quad, and thousands of dollars worth of stolen goods.

Following the arrest, police also searched a storage unit in Clairmont and found a large quantity of stolen property they believe was taken during multiple rural break and enters over the past several weeks.

Other recovered items include generators, pressure washers, air compressors, power tools, a gun safe, and survey equipment.

30-year-old Jeremi Daniel Riopka and 23-year-old Tabatha Whitney Willier, both of Grande Prairie, are facing numerous charges, including multiple counts of possession of stolen property.

They were also charged with assault with a weapon after police say a homeowner and his dog were bear sprayed after confronting the pair on August 24th. Police say more charges could be laid in the next few days. Both will appear in court on September 9th.
