Alberta Health Services is gearing up to offer a free six-week workshop for smokers looking to kick the habit for good.
The “Quitcore” program will be fronted by trained cessation professionals, who will help those involved develop a plan to quit, while also suggesting strategies to address recovery symptoms, manage stress and ultimately prevent someone from re-starting.
Participants will also be able to access financial supports for nicotine replacement therapy products.
Beginning September 18th, the six-week program will run from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Grande Prairie Public Library.
If you want to register, you can do so over the phone at 1-866-710-QUIT.
