Second man facing jail time after 2018 assault at Peace River Correctional Centre

A second man is facing just under a year in jail for the March 2018 assault of another inmate at the Peace River Correctional Centre. On August 27th, Kyle Malcolm Beaver of Edmonton was sentenced to three years less time served and a 10-year firearm ban in the assault of 28-year-old Dylan Gogan.

Gogan had been charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault, as well as possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. Following the assault, Gogan was put into a medically-induced coma and the charges against him were stayed due to his condition.

On April 2nd, Dylan Moberley-Horseman of Peace River was sentenced to five years for aggravated assault plus time served of 15.5 months and a 10-year firearms ban. A third man involved, Herbert Charles Wanihadie of Grovedale, will appear in court again on August 30th.
