Calgary-Fish Creek MLA announced as Wildrose interim leader

Calgary-Fish Creek MLA Heather Forsyth is the new interim leader of the Wildrose Party.

Former leader Danielle Smith was among the nine members who crossed the floor to join the Progressive Conservatives, following two others in November.

Forsyth was elected as a Tory MLA in 1993, but moved to the Wildrose in 2010.

She is also the Health and Seniors Critic, and will continue in that role.

She says their caucus is re-energized and committed to serving the province.

The Wildrose are left with only five members, who have all picked up extra critic roles.
