Attempted murder, aggravated sexual assault and kidnapping charges have been laid after a six year old girl was found lying naked and severely injured in the snow on the Paul Band First Nation west of Edmonton Saturday.
21 year old James Clifford Paul was arrested Sunday and is in police custody.
Officer in Charge of the RCMP Serious Crimes Unit Superintendent Gary Steinke says they were able to make an arrest so quickly because residents called police with information.
The young girl is still unconscious in hospital in stable but very serious condition.
