City to host youth leadership retreat

The city of Grande Prairie is hosting a two day youth leadership retreat next week to for high school students in the area.

Facilitators from ME TO WE will be on hand, and Youth Services Supervisor Dale Tiedemann says they want to encourage young people to look for ways to be active in their community.

“So the facilitators will be here, running interactive activities, and leadership lessons for youth.  And then at the end, the youth will actually be able to create an action plan as to they can further youth initiatives in the city as well.”

The workshop, which will be held at the GP Museum next Thursday and Friday, is free to attend but students are encouraged to sign up quickly as registration is limited.
