Grande Prairie among stops for NDP budget town hall tour

Grande Prairie will be one of six stops as part of The NDP province-wide official opposition budget consultation tour.

Opposition Leader Rachel Notley said during a brief press conference Tuesday that the NDP will happily listen to Albertan’s concerns about the upcoming budget, suggesting that it’s not something she thinks Premier Jason Kenney will take part in.

“We will be travelling across the province, to meet with Albertans about the budget. To hear their ideas about what’s working, what’s not working, and the consequences of the kinds of cuts we’ve been hearing rumours about,” she said.

The town hall will take place in the city on September 17th, with a location yet to be announced.

Notley also called on the UCP to publicly release the findings of the “blue-ribbon panel” report when it is completed this month.
