15 charged after Grande Prairie RCMP impaired driving initiative

15 people were charged with impaired driving after a weekend blitz by the Grande Prairie RCMP.

During the three day initiative, mounties utilized the Mobile Breath Test Unit to check over 1,400 drivers in four separate locations around the city.

Officials say they also handed out 13 72-hour roadside suspensions, issued 15 provincial violations, and screened two people for possible impaired drug driving. They also conducted three non-driving related investigations, with one resulting in multiple firearms-related charges being laid.

The Mobile Breath Test Unit was first used by the Grande Prairie RCMP in July and is available for detachment use at any time by request.
