Water meter replacement set to start in coming weeks

Aquatera will be replacing water meters for 1,500 customers in the upcoming weeks. Starting in mid-August, residents who are affected by the change can expect to see a notice and pamphlet in the mail with details as to how they can book their replacement.

“Our meter exchange program ensures continued accuracy of your water bill and improved reading efficiencies,” says Andrea Gallivan, Account Services Manager. “This new technology allows us to monitor water usage remotely, detect intermittent and continuous leaks, and encourage water conservation.”

To try and prevent any fraudulent activity, Aquatera officials are reminding everyone that all technicians will be in uniform and have photo identification on them at all times.

The effort is part of the company’s Water Meter Exchange Program, which swaps water meters at the end of their 20-year lifespan for new units.
