Five athletes from Grande Prairie have joined up with hundreds from across Alberta to take part in the Western Canada Summer Games.

Swimmer Jordan Gerber, Triathlete Marian Lawson, Wrestler Jason Pangracs, Athletics competitor Myah Sluik from the City of Grande Prairie, along with County of Grande Prairie resident and Baseball player Tyler Herron will compete alongside some of the countries best to try and bring home gold for Team Alberta.

“These Games help to develop young athletes who are training hard and dedicated to pursuing their goal of representing Canada at the national and international level,” says Alberta Sport Connection Chair Stephen Norris.

In all, 340 athletes from 57 communities in Alberta will be involved. The games run August 9th-18th in Swift Current, Saskatchewan.
