Portion of Township Road 734 open to local traffic only during bridge replacement

As of August 12th, Township Road 734 from Highway 43 to Range Road 114 will be open to local traffic only while crews replace a bridge.

County Public Works Director Dale Van Volkinburgh said previously that the bridge, between Range Road 114 and Range Road 113, is coming to the end of its life.

“This one has come to the point where it needs to be replaced. Its life expectancy is done, we do the replacement that really triggers from that inspection. It isn’t structurally in jeopardy, but it will be if we don’t do some work to it.”

During construction, drivers are asked to detour using Range Road 114 and Highway 43 or Secondary Highway 672 to access Township Road 734 west of the bridge. They are also asked to obey all signs and flag people and use caution when driving through construction zones.

If the weather cooperates, construction should be finished by mid-October.
