Environment Canada has issued an severe thunderstorm watch for the area including Grande Prairie, Beaverlodge and Valley.
Environment Canada says conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that could cause strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain this afternoon and into this evening.
People are reminded to take cover immediately if threatening weather approached and when thunder roars, go indoors.
