Grande Prairie man charged after drugs, gun allegedly found during traffic stop

A Grande Prairie man is facing a number of charges after drugs and a weapon were allegedly found during a traffic stop in the city.

On July 29th as part of an ongoing investigation, officers pulled over a vehicle and said they found a number of different drugs including 32 grams of meth, 13 grams of cocaine, 23 oxycodone pills, fentanyl and GHB along with a loaded shotgun and ammunition, and Canadian money.

Michael Jay O’Bee has been charged with eight counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, unsafe storage and unauthorized possession of a firearm and possession of stolen property under $5,000, among other things.

O’Bee will remain in custody until his court date on August 14th.
