County looking for feedback on NW Clairmont development framework

After four years of planning, public engagement, and development, the final phase of the County of Grande Prairie’s Northwest Clairmont Area Structure Plan is ready for public feedback.

The plan, which spans about 1,700 hectares, will help guide future development in an area within the Hamlet of Clairmont, north of Township Road 724 and west of Highway 2.

“We encourage anyone with questions, concerns or interest in the development of this area to attend,” said Planning and Development Services Director Nick Lapp. “We’ve spent time to ensure this plan will create an area of major employment and industrial development while complimenting the neighbouring development.”

The hope in the third and final phase of the project, according to county officials, is to take and install stakeholder and resident feedback into the final draft of the plan and report before it heads to council for public hearings.

The open house will run Thursday, August 8th from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Wellington Resource Centre in the Clairmont Community School.
