Rental vacancy down to 1.2 per cent in Grande Prairie

The rental vacancy rate in Grande Prairie has decreased slightly.

1.2 per cent of apartment units are available, down from 1.3 last October.

Rent, however, has gone up.

The average price for a two bedroom apartment has increased by almost 3 per cent.

Renters can now expect to pay $1,155 dollars a month, compared to $1,124 a year ago.

Across Albertan urban centres, the vacancy rate has increased from 1.6 to 2.1 per cent, which Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation attributes to less people moving and more rental units being built.
