Horse Lake man given six months in jail after allegedly driving dangerously in stolen car

A 28-year-old man from Horse Lake is facing six months in jail after police say they received a call about a dangerous driver. Arlen Jake Camille Ferguson has been found guilty of possession of stolen property over $5,000 and attempted theft among other things.

On July 10th around 7 a.m., Beaverlodge RCMP received a call about a person driving erratically on Highway 43 near Highway 672.

The caller said that the driver crashed the vehicle into a ditch and then left on foot. They alleged the man then tried to seal an ATV on a nearby property but was chased away by the homeowner. He then tried to get a ride from a different homeowner but was blocked and held until police arrived.

Ferguson was arrested without incident but a knife was found inside the vehicle that was reported stolen from Grande Prairie.
