La Crete looking to join NPHL for 2019-2020 season

The Grande Prairie Athletics may have another opponent to square off against in the upcoming NPHL season. A team in La Crete has reported started the process to try and join the league.

According to NPHL.com, the league was notified about the proposal on July 24th, when league President Jack McAvoy presented the information to the other teams and has asked for a response from them by July 28th.

Following consultation with league owners, McAvoy will then create a report of his findings and will advise “La Crete on their chances of success.”

According to NPHL.com, La Crete Head Coach and President Ryan Becker’s proposal sent to the league included, among other things, “a financial commitment, and a preliminary list of players, executive and coaches.”

Any team wishing to join the league requires a 50 per cent plus one majority vote from current member teams.
