Sources say Alberta's Wildrose is considering a merger with Progressive Conservatives

Alberta’s Wildrose Party is meeting today to discuss a possible merger with the Progressive Conservatives, according to the Canadian Press.

The official opposition is expecting at least four or more defections over to the PC party, in the case that merger talks fail.

Two MLA’s have already crossed the floor in the past three weeks, and another quit the party in early November.

The party has just 14 members left and has been dropping in popular opinion polls.

Neither Wildrose leader Danielle Smith or house leader Rob Anderson could be reached for a comment on possible merger talks.
