UPDATE: Rainfall warning cancelled for Grande Prairie area

UPDATE: The warning has ended.

Rain is set to continue until at least Thursday night in the Grande Prairie area. Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for the Grande Prairie – Beaverlodge – Valleyview areas.

General amounts of 40 to 70 millimetres are expected by the time rain comes to an end Thursday night, with amounts possibly passing 100 millimetres in some areas.

If visibility is reduced while driving, people are reminded to turn on their headlights and leave enough room between themselves and others on the road. It’s also recommended to watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.
