Grande Prairie Storm hire goaltender consultant and coach

The Grande Prairie Storm have added a couple of new names to its backroom staff, as Goaltending Coach Jonny Webb and Goaltending Consultant Chris Mason have been added to the mix for the 2019/2020 season.

Mason, who spent time in the NHL with the St. Louis Blues, Atlanta Thrashers and Winnipeg Jets, comes back to the Peace Region, where he spent three seasons with the Prince George Cougars in the mid-90s.

Webb, meanwhile, has spent parts of the last three seasons with the Bantam AAA Bisons and Midget AAA Buffaloes in Calgary. He also acted as a consultant for the SAIT Trojans in 2018-2019.

“I am beyond excited to join the Storm organization. I’m looking forward to getting to know the coaching staff and players,” says Webb. “From what I’ve heard, the Storm are a driven group with heightened expectations every season. I can’t wait to make the jump to the junior level and do what I can to help make those expectations become a reality.”

The team kicks off training camp in mid-August.
