Local law firm donates to 18 charities at annual golf tournament

KMSC Law in Grande Prairie helped out another 18 local charities and groups with this year’s golf tournament. Lawyer Mike Hussey says the 10th annual event held this year on July 18th is unique in the way that they don’t just support one group.

“We like to bring out 18 different charities and have them represented on each of the 18 holes of the tournament and then all of the money raised in the day is split equally between the 18 different charities.”

While the total amount of money raised at this year’s tournament is still being counted, an average of $65,000 is raised and split evenly each year. Hussey says this is the firm’s way of giving back to their community.

“When we originally started to think about if there was an organization that we could support in doing an event like this it was suggested, ‘well maybe we don’t have to limit it to just one and we can work with a whole bunch of different ones.’ It’s our way to do whatever we can to help raise exposure for each of these charitable organization and to give something back to our community.”
