UPDATE: The B.C. government is set to make a major announcement regarding the Site C dam Tuesday afternoon around 2 p.m. our time.
The Globe and Mail is reporting that decision is expected from the B.C. government this week on the future of the Site C dam project.
If approved, Site C will be the third hydroelectric dam built on the Peace River.
The highly contested project is worth $8.5 billion, and approval from the B.C. cabinet will likely mean a long drawn out legal battle with First Nations in the region.
