Free family activities planned at Peace Country parks for Parks Day

People are invited to bring the family down to three of the provincial parks near Grande Prairie this weekend for Parks Day.

Celebrated nation-wide on the third Saturday in  July, free family events will be hosted at Young’s Point Provincial Park, Saskatoon Island and Moonshine Lake with the goal of getting families outside and enjoying nature.

Young’s Point Provincial Park
Starting at 11:00 a.m. there will be nature activities and displays, a scavenger hunt and face painting and prizes. All activities run until 1:00 p.m.

Saskatoon Island Provincial Park
From 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. there will be crafts, a scavenger hunt, prizes and treats.

Moonshine Lake Provincial Park
From noon to 4:00 p.m. there will be nature activities, face painting, a scavenger hunt and prizes.
