Update: As of 10:30 p.m. power has been restored to the vast majority of affected residents.
Nearly 1,000 customers are without power on the west side of Grande Prairie. The lights went off around 8 p.m. and ATCO Electric says it is figuring out what caused the outage.
At this point, the estimated time of repair is 10:30 p.m. We will update when we learn more.
