Beaverlodge volleyball player Dani Smith and her Canadian teammates will have to settle for sixth place at the 2019 Pan American Cup.
The setter and her team weren’t able to make it to the podium after a 3 to 1 loss to Argentina on Saturday in Peru.
Canada finished third at the tournament last year but missed out on the semi-finals this year after losing to Puerto Rico on Friday. Despite the loss, Canada did win the Challenge Cup that took place earlier in the tournament cementing their spot at the 2020 Volleyball Nations League.
Smith and her teammates will now turn their focus to the Olympic qualifier in Russia this August.
