Two men charged after allegedly stealing quad with tracking device

Two men are facing charges after police say they allegedly stole a quad that had an RCMP tracking device inside. On June 14th, Beaverlodge RCMP put a GPS tracker in a quad and left it in a rural area which had seen 12 break and enters since the end of May.

Within hours they say the quad was stolen and later found with the help of the Rural Crime Reduction Team and police dogs.

30-year-old Darcy Julien Kelly Wanihandi of Horse Lake has been charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000. He is set to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court on July 31st.

The second man involved, 43-year-old Sheldon Lyle Wilson Ferguson of Horse Lake is currently wanted in connection to the crime. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Ferguson is asked to call Beaverlodge Police or Crime Stoppers.
