Fashion show benefiting local literacy initiatives

Just in time for Mother’s Day, the Grande Prairie Chapter of Executive Women International is planning its fifth annual Hot Heels Fashion Show for May 10th.

The annual event raises money for local literacy initiatives and scholarships, as well as supports local clothing stores and designers.

Chapter President Tiffany Clark says this year they’re excited to feature Marley Davis Designs.

“We’ve had designers in the past that their fashions were a little bit more high fashion or glitzy, and a lot of Marley’s designs are very much something that you would see women in Grande Prairie wearing.”

Tickets for the event cost $50 and are available at the Crystal Centre or by emailing [email protected].

Fashion lovers can also sign up to design a custom pair of shoes that will be auctioned off.

Along with the fashion show, the ladies-only event will also feature a trade show and a speaker from Reading University, the recipient of the majority of the funds raised.

The program helps students struggling with their reading and writing skills.
