Aquatera warning hopeful applicants about a new recruitment scam

Aquatera is warning the public of a new recruitment scam targeting people who are seeking new employment.

“It has come to our attention that a fraudulent recruitment post for the position of Front Desk Receptionist is being published on employment-related search engines,” says Aquatera Comms Specialist Sarah Martin.

The scam, sent via email, is asking hopeful applicants to send their resume, cover letter, and often personal information and money.

“We are taking this matter seriously and have notified the appropriate legal authorities and associated recruitment platforms in an effort to terminate this fraudulent activity,” Martin adds.

Aquatera says under no circumstances would they ever ask for personal or financial information or transactions. Nor would they ever request you send files of any kind to a non-Aquatera email account.

The company is urging anyone who may have been caught up in this scheme to contact the RCMP immediately.
