Clairmont Ag Society puts out call for Teepee Creek Stampede volunteers

With just a week left until the Teepee Creek Stampede, a number of volunteers are still needed. According to Clairmont and District Agricultural Society President Cindy Trudel, they are in need of six volunteers for a number of tasks.

“It’s a day of selling 50/50 tickets, picking up garbage, just kind of keeping the grandstands clear of debris and that kinds of thing; basically whatever the Teepee Creek committee tells us to do.”

This is the first time the Clairmont Ag Society has partnered with the stampede. The money they receive from helping out will potentially go towards paying bills, doing general maintenance and repairs, and helping to do upgrades on the community arena, community hall and the skate and splash park in Clairmont.

While Trudel is currently focusing her attention on stampede volunteers, she says they are always needed for other jobs around Clairmont.

“I am looking for volunteers, not only for the Teepee Creek Rodeo but for everything that we do. We do bingos once a month, we look after the skateboard park and the waterpark in Clairmont. We’re always looking for volunteers there to help mow grass, whipper snip, pick up garbage [and] keep control of the kids a little bit.”

Volunteers are needed all day on July 14th and for a few hours in the morning on July 15th. For those interested in helping out, they can contact Trudel by phone at 780-832-8939 or by email at [email protected].
