Kelly Peterson unofficially takes Wembley Town Council seat

A former Wembley councillor has taken his seat back. Kelly Peterson is unofficially the newest member of Town Council.

164 people voted in a byelection on June 25th, with Peterson winning the seat with 69 votes. Fellow candidate Justin Pede came in second with 62 votes, followed by Ira Parsons with 30 votes.

Peterson has lived in Wembley since 1993. He is no stranger to small town politics having served on council from 2001 to 2010. During that time he also volunteered on the Wembley Fire Department for 17 years before retiring in 2015.

A byelection was called at the end of May to fill the vacant seat left by the resignation of former Councillor Marc Moncrieff in early April.
