Community Foundation handing out record amount of grants and awards

The Community Foundation of Northwestern Alberta is getting ready to give the largest amount of endowment funds in its history this week.

At its annual celebration and awards night Thursday, the Community Foundation will be presenting student awards to 39 local post secondary students, and final impact grants to 28 charities.

Although the total amount hasn’t been revealed yet, CEO Tracy Vavrek says they’ve been working for 18 years to create the impact that the funds will create.
