Grande Prairie RCMP is reminding people to lock up their things after receiving numerous reports of batteries being stolen from travel trailers in the city. So far, the RCMP says there have been 20 reported incidents.

Police have released some tips for people in order to keep their property safe. They include keeping outside lights on at night, parking recreational vehicles where they can be seen, installing surveillance cameras, and keeping a list of your property including photos and serial numbers.

Police are continuing to investigate the incidents and people are encouraged to report any suspicious activity in their neighbourhoods. Anyone with information on the thefts is asked to call Grande Prairie RCMP at 780-830-5700 or Crime Stoppers.
