Aquatera to replace 1,500 aging water meters

Aquatera will be replacing water meters for 1,500 customers this summer. The effort is part of the company’s Water Meter Exchange Program, which swaps water meters at the end of their lifespan for new units.

Aquatera will be replacing 200 of the meters, while a contracted company will remove and replace the remaining 1,300.

“Our meter exchange program ensures the continued accuracy of your water bill and improved reading efficiencies,” says Andrea Gallivan, Account Services Manager. “This new technology allows us to monitor water usage remotely, detect intermittent and continuous leaks, and encourage water conservation.”

The utility company says the 1,500 residents in line for a replacement meter come from the City of Grande Prairie, County and Grande Prairie, Town of Sexsmith and Hamlet of Clairmont. Those affected can expect to receive a pamphlet in the mail with details on how to book an appointment.
