Two people facing charges in Fox Creek abduction case

Two people are now facing charges following the abduction of three children in Fox Creek. On June 1st, an Amber Alert was issued for three children, ranging in age from nine months to four years, who were believed to have been abducted from their home by their mother. The children were later found safe and unharmed.

The children’s mother, 42-year-old Charmaine Annette Darnel of Whitecourt as well as 23-year-old D’artangan Dirk Pool of Lethbridge have been charged with three counts of abduction of a person under 14, break and enter, assault and uttering threats.

Pool has also been charged with forcible confinement and disguise with intent to commit an offence. He is set to appear in Fox Creek Provincial Court on June 24, 2019. Darnel is currently in police custody for a court appearance in Grande Prairie on June 3rd.
