Former Storm forward re-signs with New York Islanders

A former Grande Prairie Storm forward has agreed to a two-year contract with the New York Islanders. Tanner Fritz, who played for the Storm from 2007 to 2011, has played the last four seasons within the Islanders organization most recently for it’s American Hockey League affiliate Bridgeport Sound Tigers.

In 42 career NHL games, he had three goals and five assists for eight points. In 174 games with the Tigers, Fritz had 43 goals and 86 assists for 129 points.

The Grande Prairie native signed his original entry-level NHL contract in 2017.
