Seven Grande Prairie athletes make 2020 Special Olympics Team Alberta roster

Seven athletes from Grande Prairie have earned the right to represent the province as part of Team Alberta at the 2020 Special Olympics Canada Winter Games.

Tricia Cramer, Steven Grandjambe, and Desiree Rehm will participate in 5-pin bowling, Darryl Loutitt, Brendon Mercier, and Darren Pedersen will take part in the floor hockey event, and Nikki King will be the lone Peace Region representative in the Snowshoe event.

Cathy Withers has also been named as one of the coaches of the 5-pin bowling team.

“Every member earned their position on the team through their commitment and hard work. The next 10 months will focus on providing the best training and support to all Team Alberta members in their preparation for National Games,” says Jodi Flanagan, Team Alberta Chef de Mission.
