County budget could include $29 million for road construction

After one day of budget deliberations, County council has flagged a number of items that they would like to have a closer look at on Friday.

Some of those items include a proposed $29 million towards new road construction, new equipment and operator positions for the public works department, and $1.2 million for a new landfill cell at the Clairmont Recycling and Wate Managment Centre.

Also up for more discussion include $1.7 million in funding for future replacement of the Rio Grande Bridge, and a $2.83 million increase to the Divisional Road Construction program.

Today is day two of capital and operational budget talks, council will be hearing from regional enforcement services, family and community support services, and the parks and recreation department.
